Traktor Kontrol Z2

Native Instruments will be releasing the Traktor Scratch Certified Kontrol Z2 on November 1st. When I first saw it I couldn’t help to think it was slightly reminiscent of my Pioneer DJM-T1 however, I was intrigued by the idea of an digital/analog hybrid mixer from NI (the company who brought us Traktor, Maschine, Komplete, etc). Needless to say after watching a few videos I put my spare Pioneer on eBay and can’t wait for this mixer to come out!

Just a reminder to all of the Maschine users out there, the 1.8 update is now available as well as the free fully-featured version of Massive that comes with the 1.8 update. The 1.8 update boasts tons of new features such as time stretching for samples, new effects, and better overall performance to name a few. To claim your copy of Massive you must receive an E-Mail from NI that contains a serial number and a download link.

Maschine 1.8 and the Next Generation of Maschine Hardware

Along with the Maschine 1.8 update we can expect some new hardware! The Maschine and Maschine Mikro get an update allowing greater control over the Maschine software. Also, the new hardware sports RGB LED buttons and pads. This could mean integration with Traktor’s remix decks. Maschine users also now will have the choice between white and black controllers, as well as customization kits to replace the faceplate and knobs!

The Maschine 1.8 update is said to have a array of new features such as time stretching for samples, new effects, and much more. Maschine users can also expect to get a free fully featured version of the analog synth plug-in Massive. Check back with us soon for an official release date!
